Big Gap (IKEA)

Yes, 5mm gap is very large and way to big for 110 volts in USA. I'd suggest 2.52mm gap for you since you are in USA. I'll figure this measurement out for you and post it here. I'll give you the length with extra tab and flap amount added too. You can cut the extra away if you have another way of mounting your ring.
Here is what I figured for my ring on the IKEA flask:
Formula:
Circumference = (PI) X (Diameter + Gaps on both sides)
Circumference = (3.14) X (87.4mm + 2.52mm + 2.52mm)
Circumference = (3.14) X (92.44mm) = 290.26mm
Circumference = 290.26mm = Ring Length
Ring Holder Tab = 13mm X 2 = 26mm
Tab Retainer Flap = 7mm
Circumference + 2(Tabs) + 1(Flap) = Total Length of Ring
290.26mm + 2(13mm) + (7mm) = 323.26mm
P.S.: This is for the exact diameter of the base of my IKEA boiler. Yours may be different!! If your ring is made to exact amount it will prove much more efficient!!
