Magnet Alternator Generator?

I've been watching some youtube clips of various guys putting together a generator driven by magnets (sometimes electromagnets).

Am I missing something here? Or are magnets not powerful enough to run a turbine?

Magnets do seem like the ultimate clean, renewable and self-sufficient source.

Any insights given would be enlightening!

Not sure what you mean, a turbine is either a fluid pump or motor.
