  • Convert gas radial piston engine to run on steam

    Hi,

I was wondering if it possible to convert gas radial piston engines (normally used on kit planes nowadays) to be driven by steam instead of gas combustion. My intention is to drive a generator instead of a propeller. What modifications will need to be done to the piston heads to allow input and output of steam?

Ask why a low RPM piston engine is more efficient than a turbine in hydro dam production, they only use turbines cause of the RATE of flow , not pressure (piston) ...

Sorry for the delay my friend, i just re read it, seems i was referring to how a piston engine deals on pressure with a hydro dam (water pressure) and the steam turbine deals with the flow rate of the hydro dam (Piston is still more expensive than steam turbine) but more efficient i read it wrong sorry man, your talking of STEAM, i really screwed that up sorry man , Ill try and find some answers about the piston engine for you
