I saw that also, loved it.
I always tell people to look outside their window. Every place they can point out where no wind turbine is spinning, there is energy being wasted. Same goes for solar panels.
Decentralizing energy will be so huge, if people just got into it. That, and house insulation.
Random thought : those hanging shutters in offices and some houses in stead of curtains: Make one side light and shiny, the other side matt black. Get my idea? Summer and winter sides. As low tech as it gets.

I think the key is exposing the lies of the industry shills. They have a "tyranny" in the debate that controls it; and that is about
Cost Per Kilowatt Hour.
But when the truth comes out, their coal, natural gas, fission nuclear, and oil are much more expensive than clean and safe alternatives would be. This is the message that will work... based on economics; that can prove BY THEIR OWN DEFINITIONS, that they are the most expensive.
Billions in subsidies to coal-fired electrical generating corporations, just for them to do something with their poisonous flue ash. Billions more in cost born by the public caused by open pit and mountain top removal pollution in waterways and water tables.
TRILLIONS in health care costs world wide caused by the pollution. That little word that is literally banned in the US mainstream media:
Benzine.
What are the real costs of wars for energy? What are the long term costs of continuing on as we are?
Why are the costs for alternatives so expensive, even 30 years later (as in solar PV, 40% more expensive in America than in Germany)? Who controls these markets? In the US; "BP" is the largest player in solar PV.
If this debate goes world wide, it is a no-brainer. It is IGNORANCE, and lack of awareness, that keeps us here.
