I never took basic electrical engineering and am mostly self taught. While I was learning the electrical side over the years it was explained to me by trained people in this way and coming from my particular background I found it easier to understand.
I was always under the impression though that it was an underground view and not deemed "officially correct", so I am pleased to discover that it is actually a more common understanding than I thought.
The battery as a pressurised reservoir is a perfect analogy and the way I see it
