Chances are you are not the only one who has thought of it in the whole world. And, if your not really willing to apply yourself, chances are you aren't the most aggressive developer of the idea, either.
If that were true, one might even assume you are sitting on the sidelines kind of hoping to benefit, but not really winning to work hard for it, nor be burdened by any expense.
Thanks for your comments. You quoted very well but failed to notice that my main objective is to make sure that a small part of the possible revenue (say one dollar in every device sold) is put aside to install and maintain devices where there are now power needs waiting to be addressed: "Also, I would like a small part of the profits to go into taking this kind of energy (or any other form of cheap and clean energy, for that matter), into needed villages, schools, hospitals in places like Africa, Asia, South America."

It's true that there are now 7 billion people on Earth, but none has yet proposed a device like mine, and of those 7 billion I'm the one trying to find a way of developing it, namely in this forum. And I am working on the details (assembly parts, materials, possible costs and so on), as much as my free time allows me to.

As I said before, this is not an Edison thing, with hundreds of people working on the project until a breakthrough is found. This is a simple way of using what we have to achieve something we desire, like peeling a pencil to obtain graphene. It's not free energy. It's clean and cheap, local, scalable. It doesn't hurt the environment and it doesn't impact on the landscape. It's not inventing the wheel, is using a modified form of wheel to use in certain circumstances that need a different wheel (and there are many, all over the planet).

Could it provide all the energy we need? Possibly, but I wouldn't bank on that. Could it provide a substantial part of the energy we need? I believe so. Could it provide substantially cheaper and cleaner energy to a substantial part of humanity? Certainly.

I'll be listening and considering every useful comment. Thanks for your time!

This will guarantee a much greater opportunity for it to actually get into the hands of the common person and those who really need it. If I had such a good idea I would build one, setup detailed instructions on how to build it with parts lists etc., and video it then setup a web site with the details and a donation button. If people can use it to save money or run their home or vehicles I can't imagine anyone not wanting to contribute a few dollars at least.
However until you at least have a working prototype I wouldn't count your dollars.
Very sensible course of action, except it is in the reverse order. I need some money to buy time and help to develop the working prototype. Not to get rich. Of course, we all want to live without counting the money on the bank, but being rich is not something I can believe in.

Thanks for your time and ideas. Every thought counts!

It just historically doesn't work to sell shares in something unproven.
Not exactly (shares on unproven things have caused most of the economic bubbles since the 17th century), but I can see your point.

My working idea now to aim for some (let's put it this way) venture capital is to set up a simple website, post some details, ask for people to buy shares (US $10 each?) to go to the next level, where a new set of details would decide some people to keep aboard while others would quit. The former would buy new shares to proceed. I think I could do with six or seven levels of this, and by the time we got to the last level I would have some money and possibly someone really interested in banking the prototype.

It's a kind of donation, except shareholders would see their investment generate money back, if the devices prove to have an operational range. If not, then many people would have lost a little money, which is maybe easier to digest than a few people losing big money.

Thanks for your thoughts and for helping me in this road.
