A better solution
The problem with all gravity watering systems is that they continuously drip till they run out. This can actually be bad for the roots of most plants and rot them. They way it is done in nature, when you get a good rain the soil saturates and then the rain stops and the plant goes without water till the soil dries and the process repeats itself. Also constantly wet soil promotes certain fungus growth etc. If the water is not fed continuously, the reservoir lasts longer too.
Does anyone know any home made gravity fed systems that dishes the water out none contentiously?
Only thing I can think of is a system like this @ 5:12:
O-Ren Ishii and the Bride (fight scene from the Movie) - YouTube
Also, if you fill a thin drink bottle full of water and point it up side down you will notice that the water pours out in gulps.
Any idea any one?

Dry syphon system ike your toilet-bowl works, tub fills up to certain level until syphon runs over this will continue until water is back at original level a the bottom and the syphon stops.
Size of syphon and length/ height difference in and out of syphon + container size will determine the amount of water fed.
Good draining of the plant beds into a bottom container will let them dry up in time for the second shower. Water transport from bottom to top with a 60 watt (fish-tank) air-pump will leave the heavy parts in the bottom container and the h20 goes up (with mixed in plant food) Top container can drip back in to syphon container or through a toilet reservoir fill system which will limit the water level in the syphon container to just right.
System will generate algae so through a few pennies in the water (bottom tank)
Non English speaker as if you didn't notice that.
Have fun, get wet
