This is interesting, I wonder if there is an open source or DIY version. this would be great at the base of new tree plantings

this is very easy to manufacture.. just take one of these garden lamps which have a tiny solar panel on them.. cut the tube in 1/4 of it's lenth, glue a little toy fan they sell in grocery stores on the center, get some copper tubing and fill it with copper bearings , bend it hellicaly , put a mesh on the top and bottom of tube . connect the tube of the lamp with the copper tubing then put a plastic container on the bottom of the copper tubing, take a small water pump which they use in small garden fountains.. and connect it to the bottom of the container using plastic tubing.. similar system can be used for drinking water as well if you modify the construction and add suitable UV sterilization process , all by using thermal energy from the sun.. if you design it correctly no solar panel is needed..

Yeah, I started doing some calculations based on relative humidity and temperature, and this thing does not look good in dry climates. When you are talking about 30% humidity or less, you are going to need a 30 degree F temp difference to condense that water. My ground temps are about 70F. So, that means it will only condense water when temps exceed 100F or the humidity increases beyond 30%.

So, this is not for deserts, this is for hot, humid places. Those places also tend to have a lot of water.

This only means that you have to heat up the air (w/o loosing moisture) ..

This device can be a great way to conserve water. As we all know, water is becoming a scarce resource all over the world. This has been a topic of many researches and yes it is a fact. This device can help in the reduction of clean water consumption. Instead of getting water from our faucet to water the plants, we can use the output of the device instead or maybe used for some other purposes. Thumbs up for this great invention. - l_schultz

A friend of mine has something similar to this on his yacht,
it just pull water out of the air to provide an endless supply of fresh water while out on the water, in perfect conditions it can make 7 litres a day.
its about the size of a microwave oven half of which is a stortage tank it is a bit power hungry which can be an issue on a yacht.
