It seems to me that this is just a wicking bed, but with a smaller water reservoir and a lot of extra stuff you don't need.

Hi Vela,

It is sorta crossing a wicking bed with global buckets. I have built 2 wicking beds and they are awesome too.

The thing that this system has over the standard wicking bed is air prunning, this is something you have to just try to see the difference. ( I am amazed )

I am very pleased with the results so far this is my first year for this and I am blown away with the results.

air pruning, like pruning the roots? how is that beneficial?

I'd like to see a side by side comparison of wicking beds and this method with same inputs/water, etc. I really don't see the advantage, but I see a lot of disadvantages, like increased surface area (more drying, more heat), lots of plastic, and decreased soil and water reservoirs.

I imagine that larger wicking beds will outperform these buckets by a decent market.
