I have read about this in a very good book

“The Biochar Revolution” with “The Biochar Solution”

I want to call this book: “All about Biochar” because “The Biochar Revolution” collects the results and best practical advice that these entrepreneurs have to offer to the biochar community.

    Biochar Books
In the book you will read about the challenges of designing low-emissions biochar production systems from small-scale stoves to farm-scale pyrolyzers. Another section of the book is devoted to explaining simple tests to characterize biochar and methods for conducting valid field trials.

Last year I had a nice garden, but I had to move to a small apartment.
I try not to think about it, I really miss it.

When I started the soil had been weed bound and dry, near the surface were spiders, beetles, earwigs, ants
however deep deep down the earth worms were surviving I suppose on the roots of weeds.

I used a blender and ground university mix very fine and added 1/4 - 1/2 inch biochar
along with large diverse batch of microbes multiplied three days in 20 gallons water
1/2 cup of molasses as an aerated tea* and of course earth worms and mycorrhiza.
applying this more where the plants were small.

The addition of organic material held the water longer between watering
and the mushrooms were seen under shade of zucchini leaves.

The biochar was helpful is bringing the soil to vigorous life.
