battery problem?

hello folks

i just build my first simple bedini

last night i let it run and i noticed a steaddy climb in the receiving battery.
i am usin 12v car batterys

but this morning the battery was at 12.9 volts witch was looking good couse we started at 11V

now after 20hours in the cicle i checked again and suddenly only 10.5 volts left in this battery and dropping.....

what is happening???

annyone came accros this before?

When I first started in this whole thing with Bedini energizers and electronics in general (about 6-7 weeks now) I used regular type car/motorcycle batteries also. Thing is... you're supposed to use deep cycle batteries, since you wont be charging and discharging them at the same time. I've managed to actually 'restore' the batteries.. which I think I may have changed the chemistry of them and 'converted' them to semi-deep cycle batteries. I did this by putting them on a regular battery charger on the 2A 12V deep cycle setting. If your light comes on saying that it's fully charged (or fried) then flip the switch to '12V start' for ONLY a couple seconds, then back to 2A, or whatever you have to do to get it to work without the 'fully charged' light to come on. (if you are using that type of charger, anyway) Whatever you do, you want to 'trickle charge' them. From what my charger says, it runs for 2 sec on (max), 240 sec off (minimum) per 'cycle'.

If that is not what's going on, you may have seriously damaged your batteries and they might have shorted out plates. Like I said though, I'm quite new to all of this, so I'm definitely not anywhere near the most knowledgeable or experienced person you want to get an answer from, I just thought, since no one else has replied, I would tell you about my experience. Also, you're going to want to check around on the forum and watch a bunch of videos to make sure you built your device correctly. Make sure that you use the correct components, or if you don't have them, make sure you figure out what ones are compatible alternatives. There are threads in this forum for alternative transistor selections.

One other thing.... when you are charging these on the Bedini, your voltage reading while charging will always be higher than the actual voltage of the battery. you want to take the batteries off the system and let them sit for a while to let the voltages settle to find out what the actual is. And when your drive battery starts getting low, your charge battery reading may decrease. I've had that happen quite a lot actually, but I have never had a battery decrease below the voltage that it started at before I hooked it up to charge. Make sure your acid solution hasn't started to bubble, because if it does, it changes chemistry and will not hold a charge above a certain voltage. I did this to one of my batteries on my regular charger, and haven't tried changing the acid to see if it fixes it. I don't want to convert this one to Alum because it doesn't belong to me.

we have build the bedini with all components listed in the plan
its a bifilar coil with aprox 860 winds

we are not planning on using a regular charger on them just to see if i can bring them back from the dead

in the meantime i have now the setup running with 2 batterys of 70AH on the charge side
the first one was a fairly good one and this one is charging nicely
the second one was also on the 10.5 volt side at start and here i see fluctuations as well but its getting up slowly.
one of these days i hook up the first one on again to see what happens

this weekend we start on the 8 fillar coil and see what happens then

if anny more suggestions out there please report in.
