Magnet pulse test.
The first Dragone test yielded about half the power back in the recovery cap. 8 volts back for the 16 in the power cap. The twin 16 volt 6800 mf caps wired power in series to one side of the DPDT the center poles shorted and the recovery cap and diode in parallel on the other side.
The switch has to go through the off position, that's when the power appears. The coil was the old single wrap 32 gauge 3/4 inch aircore with the same two 3/4 inch diametric neos end to end. The spool's 1 1/2 inchs high.
I have three additional test coils set up to try. The hi voltage bifilar is next. This may double the magnetic force and balance the ratio.
My next test will pulse one coil of a magnet core bifilar by reed switch, and moniter the seconday for output.
