  • Bedini window motor coil winding question?

    Is preparing to Replication the Bedini window motor, see the circuit coil should be two kinds of specifications of enameled wire winding at the same time the merger, then only one group of coils. However, many of my friends to see a Replication of pictures and video are two sets of coils, what is entanglement? What group should be wound?

    Because I have the standard of English is not good, some Replication text description of the coil winding may not understand, Please do not laugh at me.

    The coil is simply wound around the rotor and it splits so the shaft can come through.

    So you would start winding around the rotor and one turn would be on the top, the next turn goes on the bottom. You dont have to do this if you can figure out a way to wind around the center without the shaft interfering with the windings. All the windings can go on the top, or bottom, or if you dont have a shaft that goes all the way through you dont have to worry at all.

      I know that is to use your pictures, I read your article a lot about the motor, very admire you! Also envy you make the motor.

      Do you mean to say: Because the axis of the reasons, in order to winding symmetrically placed in the middle of motor, so the use of two coil, two coil winding respectively, complete and fixed later, then two sets of coil in series, is not it?

        YES That would be correct. Only one(1) coil.
        NOT two sets of coils in series.

          Bi-filar coil

          Please keep in mind the coil is a bi-filar coil.....

          It is all wound as one together but you need the trigger coil/wire included for a traditional window motor.....

            Use at least 3 wires if you want a full bipolar switching motor. You will need two wires to trigger both polarities on the motor, and at least 1 wire as the power wire.

            In this build I didnt need to split the coil around a shaft, because the Harddrive I used has a nice flat bearing which mounts behind the rotor. The coils just sit over the top.
