  • Newman motor and Bedini window motor There a difference?

    Hello everybody;

    Someone can tell me: Newman motor and Bedini window motor There a difference?

    From a structural point of view, I think Newman and Bedini window motor should be is the same, But different shapes. I am confused.

    I think the shape of the coils affects the development of the NS electromagnetic poles in the coils.... they appear to be very similar to me also.....

    It also has to do with the timing of when the coils are turned on.... I think....

    I have built both and my Bedini window motor developed more tourge so I am working with it more.....

    Hopes and Dreams.....

      They are similar but the physical construction is obviously different. If you take a Newman motor and collapse the coil down (like a window motor), the efficiency goes way down and it barely turns. The coil has to cover the entire magnet in height for a Newman motor to work properly. This should tell you something about how it operates.
      The window motor is interesting, but I never found anything particularly exceptional about it. It's just an alternate form of a PM magnet motor IMHO. I think a properly built Newman motor is far more efficient, although the Newman motor lacks torque and isn't good for much. However, the Newman motor illustrates the way to make motors highly efficient, and is a gem of an instructional device.
      My 2 cents anyway...
