I used that on my self running oscillator experiment that runs on caps and
doesn't need batts - just proof of concept.

However, what you're alluding to, I also shared that with some members
in the joule thief group and a few people actually tried it and cut their
    input to half.

    • minoly,

thanks for those two vids...unless you have since used those two batts again....can you let them rest a while....and let us know what the two voltages are after a good rest?

      thanks

for anyone that saw the whole vid, our primary started at 12.57 and in the end of the video it could be seen climbing to 12.59. It climbed to about 12.61 and settled at 12.59 2 hours later. the charging battery settled at 12.94 (interesting behavior, eh) we drained it back to 12.82ish w/ our 76 Bright white LED array for 26 minutes, full on (no joule thief trickery:-) 85mA). we have nothing to prove so we did not bother filming. Thing is, if we leave it to run 24 hours for example, it will not make a complete recovery. If, however, we cap dump to the charging battery, and rotate a set of 3-4 batteries, allowing one to set to rest, you can do this indefinitely as Bit's has shown.

        • I am a little confused right now. Isnt this big? Why doesn't the fact that we have self running and charging machines have half the world abuzz right now? At least some scientists. Why don't more people here seem excited?
I mean if you had a system like Bits' in an electric vehicle, it would be charging the vehicle while driving, braking, sitting at the red light, sitting in a parking lot for hours while your at work. Not that it would give enough electricity to run the vehicle by itself (YET!) Using a Bedini, regen braking, some clever solar panels, and maybe something like the wind belt, it may be possible. If not it would dramatically extend its run time. Thats a big deal! right? Hell, if you had an aerodynamic vehicle and were able to bypass your alternator (lots of wasted gas) and replace with a self-charging battery system, the money in gas saved (especially with oil starting to reach close to dangerous territory again) would pay for the system. Not to mention less strain on a motor means less pollution. The Greens should be beating down John's, Minoly, and Bits' doors right now! Right? Am I missing something?
Bits says at the moment he knocks around $50 bucks off his electric bill. Some would say "only $50?". I personally think that is huge!! So lets just say Bits has a Solar powered home, and he has the 10 coiler. Now that $50 bucks is a little more significant dont you think? He just got paid $50 dollars, from the elec co. If he had solar and a 30 coiler (if all is linear) he just put enough electricity back in the grid to run another home. For technically FREE!!! (I know if this were a real situation Bits would not think it was free! lol)
I mean when I started on this forum a couple years ago, the Bedini's were all over the place being mutilated by everyone, including myself. All looking for EXACTLY what has been shown too us in the last few days. And now only a few are even commenting, much less excited. Am I seeing something that doesn't really exist? A magic electricity shuffling trick that has me totally bamboozled? We have been asking for this, and now it is presented multiple times, and we are.............quiet. What gives? I always though that if you had a machine that ran itself, big or small, it would change the world.
Inventor: Hi, I have invented a self-running machine!
          world: What?
          Invent: Yep a self runner.
World: That means it could possibly run all sorts of stuff, from cars to businesses....cleanly, and for virtually nothing after initial cost?
          Invent: yep, exciting huh?
World: Nah, I think Ill stick with the oil...I like the way it looks stuck to birds in the Gulf,,,
John, Jeff, Minoly, and all you guys that have a system like this...GREAT job, keep up all the hard work.

Absoulty this is big! I think folks are starting to get it, albeit slowly. Redrechie, thank you. Now for my viewpoint, we have for many years tried to illustrate there are better methods to produce energy and clean up our environment. Some of these methods still go not being noticed because they are not "Packaged" for the normal consumer. I was asked by some attendee's at the conference the very question of, "When can I buy and distribute this to the world". I had to answer with "This conference is to Teach this technology and if we give in to the status quo, then we are just repeating the very mess that we are in today". Let me explain, if we allow 1 or 2 corporations to secure the right s to these inventions and technology's, then we have just allowed ourselves to be held hostage AGAIN. But, if we teach the world to be able to create and use the free energy, at will and adapted for our own use, we finally can break free. Redrechie, you are right, just imagine your car with a 10 coiler in it as you pass the fueling stations AND the power pedestals for charging. We have shown all this is possible with just a few items at the conference. John's wheel producing over 1.5 million joules of energy, Rick driving a electric lawn mower plus his electric car, The 10 coiler running on its own power and Peter sharing (teaching) the secrets of the Lockridge device and Patrick's latest vid. All I can say is WOW and look out 2011.

            • I know the arm twisting to put this in big biz hands has to be great. What a load off it would be. But I'm with you. It needs to be taught. And never forgotten. Not hidden, or swept under some corporate rug. I am not saying anything about this tech is easy. But compared to building a home brew nuclear reactor this is simple. And safer. And most of us can probably do it.
The basic principles are there for us. I think a definitive guide (see Ferris wheel post) would really get people on the right track. Most here can get this to work, if we had a real clear direction. Thats why we are here.
Your average person buys and maintains a lawnmower. He/she can fix most of whats happening with it. But they can not fabricate one. Especially with instructions that come from 5000 different sources.
I am a copier technician by day. Most people cant press a start button correctly. Trust me I know. This is not for them.

              • I think there is that level of excitement with many people here and beyond

I think Jeane had it right when she mentioned that it is a social issue in engaging the scientific community in the possibility of the technology. What is really needed to push things along is some proper funding and a team of researchers to understand the fundamental concepts and the implications of it all. Its not at all impossible for the public to reverse the normal process and push it out there, but it is difficult.

On a personal level I am VERY excited about the technology on display. I have my kit up and running and cannot wait to push it as far as I can and then try to push even further with a new build. For me its baby steps as I prefer to let my hands on experiments tell me the truth and that by no means indicates that If I cannot attain OU I will blame the concept, I will just say that it is not my way of contributing to free energy and move on.

Even once I prove for myself the concepts that opened my eyes wide at the conference I still have some big questions to ponder, one which is that do I envision a world dependant on batteries in their house? How do I contribute best to moving the idea into the mainstream?

This is all amazing work and everyone I tell is interested but the general public is looking for me to prove it to them first... its just how our society seems to work on the grassroots level, prove it to me first and then I will consider looking into it.

Is Bedini saying without reservation that he has developed a legit verifyable
                    OU device?

                    • It looks that way Bill.

John himself has been very open and posting regularly on how one might replicate the large device shown at the conference.
Check out Sticky thread at top!

It is remarkable and I hope some replications appear in the near future.

However the people who were showing replications of the kits showing 'OU' at the conference are still not been very forthright with there data or conclusions. I hope this will change soon as I do believe they have something.
Otherwise, yep it's the old Bait and Switch thing again...
