  • The Oreo cell bounced back to 89 mV.
This in enough of itself is to question why does it bounce back if there
Is not something special going on in the
Electrolyte interface? Assuredly, I did not
Expect high output, rather was using the carbon carbon cell to see if
There was a galvanic issue or to rule it out.
    So what is the answer?
    Very Best Regards,
    Jim

Before I started playing with crystals cells I played with many types of same metal cells. We're taught that you need different metals to get a voltage but from every test I've done with the same metals I would still get voltage. I was able to get up to 600mV from using the same metals in distilled water. I have concrete cells, glue cells, and many others that have the same metals in them and I don't know why they produce voltage. They should not produce any voltage because they're at the same electron volt level so no electricity should be flowing but it does. I use to think that it was due to the different size of the plates but that has little to do with it. I could short these cells out for months and they would still bounce back, sometimes higher than the original voltage. It never made sense that a same metal cell with the same electrolyte could produce any power but it does. But this effects happens to many cells, even galvanic ones, but I can't easily explain it.

      • Carbon is also a crystal and has very interesting properties, similar to those of metal, as well as diamond, but without the oxydation factor. The quartz points that I use in layers does add to the electrolyte efficiency of moving or transfer of ions, as I can not replicate my own results (50 +mA), without using it. I am now using a totally dry electrolyte, (carbon and quartz). And still getting over 1 volt, but less current, 6 mA. And can still light a red led barely, at times.
What is causing the voltage and current levels to drop in all of the cells which are constantly running and providing a permanent output, is due to the internal impedance and resistance levels of the cells. This is caused by the hydrogen gas (bubbles) on the positive electrode. Besides the visible and invisible oxidation and contamination of the electrolyte by the hydrogen gas build up.
I find that the stronger the output current of the cell, the better is resists the increasing impedance, which is caused by this build up of hydrogen bubbles not allowing ions to flow through the anode. Therefore the cells voltage and current readings will look normal, but the output levels are restricted. This happens to all cells that are not 100% hermetically sealed.
The question is, if the oxydation factor is our main problem over time, is that really only dependent only on the availability of oxygen, and can it be avoided by simply sealing the cells, or not... " Time Will Tell"...

BTW: My capacitor cell beach sand cell made back in March, after a soaking in last nights heavy tropical thunderstorm is producing 1.3 volts and 50 mAs. That was its original voltage when it was made, and with No oxidation to be seen. It uses the water, but like a crystal cell, it may be caught in the matrix, and can't get out, as there is no oxidation present.

Some of my cells are again raising in voltage, possibly from an ambient bump charge. And I'm again able to light an led 1/3 brightness on just one positive wire, especially if connecting it to ground wire that is going to the outside the house. This is a surface skin affect I'm seeing, and not galvanic, at all.
I would love to be able to increase that one wire voltage. Any ideas...

From the video you show about water, the exclusion zone have negative charge and other region has positive/less negative charge. I would say that voltage can also appear due to difference in pH. Now is this kind of cell galvanic? I suppose the pH difference consumed if it's non galvanic, but the exclusion zone keep maintaining the pH separation.

Another thought is this. Solar cell needs sunlight to work. What if we can store sunlight and emit it later? What would be use to store sunlight? Maybe water is a mini sun. lol

            Hi everybody,

just reading you guys is a pleasure every day
I found this awesome wrap up video which explains pretty much what we'Re trying if I follow the latest events.
It has quasi crystals, semiconducters, solar activity and is from 2000 funcking 8

            • here is a interesting video on the Crystal glue cell. Crystal cell Gains Voltage as its shorted out - YouTube

On the right the cell is hooked to meter. On left it is being shorted out. When shorted out the one on the right goes up in voltage, don't understand why.

I wonder if Jeremy at Alien Scientist has ever visited this thread....
The good news is that perhaps we have found a way to capture said wave energy without having the need for 99.999 pure Silicon!

                • Crystal cells have gone back up--- It is a hot spell in S. Calif

The stove cell that runs Penny#1 have you noticed voltage seems to be higher during the night than in the morning? I've built your Penny oscillator with the chokes instead of wire and have it running a Crystal Glue Cell. Its not perfect like yours because I lack a potentiometer. The Penny Oscillator is so much better than a Joule thief.

                  thanks.
The cells went back up like they did while I was gone on my trip. This time I was here to see it. It is caused by heat. We had an unusual hot spell here and the tempature was as high as 105 in some places. This tells me that the reason that the cells go up during the day and are down by morning is a temperature fluctuation. I thought that it might be related to the full moon but now I'm pretty sure it is just heat.
Not much else to report except that the Penny oscillators (the ones using the steel twist tie wire) are the best loads that I have found so far. Steve your "stove top" cells are really hanging in there. I wish that more people were making them. I am wondering if they are doped by the aluminum foil as the cooking takes place. Something happens. I can freeze these cells with very little drop in voltage and they bounce right back. Penny No. 1's cell is still higher (under load) than it was new back in August.

Everyone is doing great work here.

Hey Lidmotor I never got your first name, what is it if you don't mind me asking?

As for my cell going up at night and down in the morning can't fully be confirmed, the next day the cells seems to be jumping around a bit but is at a higher voltage then what I started with. Its been rainy and cold here but yet the voltage is higher. This cell should not be affected by water due to it is fully coated with paint to protect it.

I must say the Penny oscillator is really amazing device for testing. I'm thinking about making a few more penny oscillators and a few more cells and fully enclose one in resin and hang it up on my wall just to see how long it will run a LED.

I'm still working on new ideas. I'm still trying to perfect a idea I have to make just about anything into a crystal battery. I'll be uploading a video soon on one of the experiments I'm doing trying to make rock into a crystal battery. This will be a very interesting video to watch due to different sides of the rock give different voltages.

we all have done a great job on making crystal cells, this thread is really exciting.

                        • first cells update

All three cells have an initial quick spike at 2.8 volts then go down to about 1.2 volts. Cell number 2 has the highest ma at 20, so we cant light leds.

Learning from our first build we must melt the salts in the cell container itself. Its too thick and dries too quick to move it around.

As soon as we get the ma's up on one cell we are going to fire a ceramic box with grooves on 2 sides to hold metal sheets. This box will be open on the top. The salts will be melted in this box and alternating hot copper and magnesium sheets will be quickly put into the slots to form a multi cell - cell. All like plates are going to be charged at the same time.

Brad, yes very addictive, and until some one proves by chemistry and physics how these work and work best, many experiments need to be done.

To who ever was going to check on Mcormicks cream of tartar is it ok to use?

                          • Lidmotor and All:
We are having a huge tropical storm here in C.R. the last few days, and my cell have all gone up even though its been cooler than normal.
I also found that using the conducive grease on the terminals helps quite a bit to obtain more current from the cells. Between the higher atmospheric charge, and the use of the marine dielectric grease most of my cells are all working much better. Doesn't this mean that the cells are also taking in energy from the ambient??? What more proof do we need?
I have not heard if there has been another solar flare, like we had a couple of weeks ago.

It is interesting you brought up the idea of the Al working as a dopant. I came across this the other day and these two sentences stood out for me.

                              http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zinc_oxide

“Most ZnO has n-type character, even in the absence of intentional doping.” And “Controllable n-type doping is easily achieved by substituting Zn with group-III elements such as Al, Ga.”

Additionally, there are several articles describing semiconductors combining ZnO and Al together.

My Stove top cell was made without the Al and while it is still running and holding its own very well, it dropped from the original voltage and has not gotten back to the original values. The Al might possibly be the reason. This weekend I intend to revisit the “stove top” cell and introduce ZnO and Al with the original mix.

Steve (ibpointless2); in my hybrid attempts to replicate Jim’s (jehdds) cell I have mixed much of your work with his. I replaced the Elmer’s Glue All with Titebond II which is watertight and waterproof. I understand from the Elmer’s Glue site that “Elmer’s Glue All Max” is the equivalent of Titebond II. Working with the new glue is identical to the other glue we are using and I cannot tell the difference. Not entirely sure why you are concerned about the moisture, but you might want to give this a try. Also look at post #1590 for Jim’s mix. It might have changed a little, but this is what I fashioned my work on.
I played with your rock battery last night – what a hoot. Found a rock in the flower bed and washed it off and placed on a piece of galvanized sheet metal. Found that where you connect the lead to the rock makes a difference also. Voltage would drop, but moving the rock around would bring the voltage back up. This morning, no reading and I think my rock had to be moist to work. I was able to read 0.422 volts though. If I ever find myself on a 3hour cruise aboard the Minnow with the Skipper and Gilligan, I hope you are there with me.

Jim (jehdds) I have a new version of the mix that will be ready to test this evening. Don’t know how it could get any better than the original, but we won’t know unless we try. As it is said – “A work in progress.”

Alan (radiant1) check out lidmotor’s youtube channel. There is a lot of stuff you can do with 1.2V and 20ma, including the lighting of LED’s.

                              • @Brad, regarding Al doping, please see my post on the 11th.

To get IB's stove top cells closer to MR cells, why not put a layer of Cu2O on the inserted (or plate) Cu electrode and use the Al foil (possibly ZnO doped) as the - electrode? Skip the use of the Mg all together. Once you have a +P type electrode(Cu+Cu2O), -N(Alum) to +P(Borax) crystal, -N type electrode (Al) then you could have a stove top MR cell.

But, don't forget to train the electrons...
