Help welcome to set up a little bedini generator

I changed the 470 R for a 10 R and put back the nails in to the coil's core. And it works fine, without sound, it spins quite fast. Now i would like to put another coil in front of the trigger coil to see how many volts i get back.

What i don't anderstand is why if i remove the metal core off the coil, it self oscillate making a whissel sound...
But there are many things i don't anderstand ...
