Heres a picture of the powder coating formed on my moejoe cell spheres. I was charging it with SSG for a hour 3 times a day for two days. The water (clean spring water) slowly turned yellowish and smelled like chlorine, like in swimming pools. So I decided to disassemble it. I think that the smell could be due to improper cleaning off the polishing paste remainings.:

Chlorine smell usually occurs when you electrolyze water with NaCl. It seems that your water may be more saline than it appears.

Yes, I know that, but the water should be fine, I did not observe something like this before, when I was working with cylinder systems. Although I did not polish those tubes Anyway, I cleaned those spheres with solvent and alcohol to remove any remaining polishing chemicals. Will see how it works. Then, if the chlorine smell appears again, I will try using distilled water, this will show if the problem is in the water
Thanks,

Use Isopropyl alcohol- it's a most excellent solvent for grease.

tube conditioning
I am using plaster of paris for my calcium mixture. You have to mix it up for quite some time so it doesn't set up in the jug on the bottom. I put two heaping tablespoons full in a gallon of tap water. The brown sludge decreases as the tubes get their coating.

Need a procedure on how to condition my tubes
Guys,
Been reading the forums for about a month now but have my 304L tubes ready for conditioning. I have been getting bits and pieces of what and how to do the conditioning process but nothing step by step.
Questions like:
Do I just use straight DC power or use a PWM?
What voltages?
Who long per cycle.
Tap water only ( I do like the idea of using some plaster paris )
Please provide as much as you can. Step by step would be helpful.
Thanks,
Brian
I case you can not tell I am a newbe but have been researching and playing with this for about 5 months now.
Hopefully I will have a lot more to post in the future we are planning on adding this technology to about 5,000 vehicles in our fleet. We are just getting started and I will have a lot of questions as well as being able to provide solutions in the future.
