In 1976, in the city of Kharkov, USSR (territory of modern Ukraine), the project of the vehicle’s onboard system splitting water into hydrogen was implemented. A device was installed in the trunk of the test car (as shown in the video) into which water and aluminum-based reagent were poured. Unfortunately, the scientific laboratory was scattered, and its participants died in various circumstances.
Only the shots made by Bulgarian documentalists remained.

I wonder how many miles per gram of aluminum. This method of hydrogen production goes back to the 1800s. As a matter of fact I believe the true purpose of Bahgdad batteries to be the production of gas and electricity was a secondary effect

Interesting because there is an observable counter attack going on right now against hydrogen powered vehicles. Just search Screw Tube and you're going to see some video's on "The Truth About Hydrogen" and so forth. Clearly they do not want hydrogen powered cars gaining a foothold in the West.
