I'm injection hydroxy before air filter. Good place would be like Redmeanie suggested, after air filter and before throttle body. When hydroxy flows out, it carries water vapor together. Water vapor and hydroxy adds more power compared to just hydroxy alone. In my setup, I had no choice but to put before air filter. Air filter dries out some of the hydroxy gas vapor and causes less effective in fuel economy.
I'm going to use mist maker to compensate this in my next test run. Currently thinking of way to modify ordinary mist maker to put for use in our car. Mist maker cannot be too deep or too shallow inside water. I'm making float to position the mist maker at right level. Hopefully gives good result later.

Hi guys,
I have completed the test with water mist maker on 14/06/2008. After much thinking on modifying the mist maker sit on floater, lastly I drop the idea. I go with simple method first, just to get some results. If result good then I can think of modifying the mist maker to suit for car.
During startup, mist maker was producing too much of mist. Mist goes into air intake before air filter. The whole setup unit uses 2A (24 watt) of power (includes inverter & mist maker). After driving 50 miles, I stopped and check if the mist maker was working. I see less mist being produced. At end of the run, mist maker stop working because of mist maker adapter spoilt. Hmmm... China product....
At end of the run, the car lost mileage gain about 6%. Previous was 28% and now got 22%. I changed the adapter and then I did little modification. I use hydroxy to push mist into air intake. Well, after long run (not doing mileage testing), due to engine heat no more mist being produce. The mist condenses back to water.
Based on the above result, I'm not going to use mist maker in my car. The experiment was good but the product can not coupe with engine heat. For water vapor injection, either use water/meth bubbler or water mist fogger (pressurised fogger). Maybe mist maker could be used in cold country.

What about getting a fuel injector, something like this:
and an electronic furl pump. You could just build a water tank, submerge the fuel pump in the water so that it pumps water to the injector and then all you have to do is putting the injector in a hole in the air input line. You will be able to adjust the water consumption by building a simple PWM that will adjust the ON/OFF times of the electronic valve. You can get the pump and injector on ebay for under 50$ or just get them a lot cheaper in a local old car yard.
Just an idea
What do you think?It's better to wear off by working than to rust by doing nothing.

I have done that prior than using tyre inflator pump and fog injector. I use Mercedes fuel pump and BMW fuel injector. Both are second hand items but good working condition. The injector able to inject almost fine mist but narrow radius. This is still ok. When I on/off power to injector solenoid, sometimes the injector could not close its valve properly. Water dripping happens.
Worst was the fuel pump stops working after few operation. This is because of bearing inside fuel pump corroded by water. Bearing needs lubrication and fuel does the job very well but not water. I have bought solenoid valve (diafragma type) which could withstand up to 100 psi months back. I just need some time to put things together for operation.
The concept is still the same as I use in Honda Accord water/methanol injection. Tyre inflator pump compresses air inside water container. Between water container and water mist injector, place solenoid valve as controller. Use on/off switch or PWM to control solenoid valve to inject water mist into air intake.
But I have no room under Mercedes engine hood to put all these parts together. Another problem is I need to monitor and maintain air pressure inside water container. In Honda, I placed the whole unit beside passenger seat so that I could monitor the pressure while I'm driving. Anyway, I have no plan to use the water injection in Merc at this moment. Maybe after I completed test with hydroxy and water/methanol vapor, I start looking into water injection.

I'd like to see what happens to your economy when you "index" each of the spark plugs, meaning pointing them in the direction where they work at their optimum.
Take a look at this:
Spark Plug Indexing - Holdenpaedia
As you can see, plug indexing makes a big difference to temperatures and gives you added horsepower and torque.
I feel your economy will increase markedly by adopting this low cost approach to burning more fuel/air per cycle of your engine.

I conected some hose to the NEBULISER. This goes into a seperate HIGHER container to prevent it larger drops and the bottle syphoning out before it conects to the air intake (after the filter) through another hose.
I run this on my 4.2 diesel Landcruiser. I have noticed a difference in the reduction of black smoke on hills. I still have not had a chance to do a MPG test. This will also work to "de-coke" and help the engine burn away soot buil-up.
I have also conected the breather pipes from the Car batteries to the last container (why not).
Dont forget adding water into a fuel mixture on your modern Petrol cars will require some modifications to your O2 censor after your cat/converter. Or it will sence more oxygen in the exhaust and over-fuel the car!!!!! (not telling anybody how to suck eggs if you already worked it out ). Sometimes you can just space them out as if you de-cat your car exhaust.

The same aply's when using cooking oil instead of diesel. ( I work in a breakers yard and it is very rare to see a BOSH pump FAIL. Normaly a LUCUS pump will fail. Hope that helps.

for me maybe the effect of a roof rack on gas economy is negligible -- until you place a luggage carrier on the rack. The increased profile of the carrier increases the car's air resistance, which becomes significant at highway speeds.Last edited by merold; 04-13-2012, 03:02 AM.
