    Switch for EFIE

RedMeanie. Does the EFIE unit have a toggle on/off swith to bypass or eliminate its voltage input or is the input thresh-hold set so when it is turned all the way down it has no effect on the O2 sensors reading? I have an order in for the EFIE and PWM and can't wait to get this setup on and tested. I have been using O2 spacers and a straight wired Booster. But I only drive 2 miles to work so I have not yet seen any savings. A road trip could tell me though. The pics of all the kits put together look great! I have dusted off my soldering iron and am ready for this! Thanks!

Yes, There is a "By-Pass" switch that takes it right back to stock if you ever need to switch it off.

        Parts List

RedMeanie, Is there a parts list available for the EFIE and PWM? I have three of these to build for all of my rides. I want to get a headstart on ordering the extra electronics for the other boards. I noticed you stated that you use quality electronics. Where should I order from to make sure I get the "Good Stuff"? I have been using All Electronics for years for resisters, diodes and simple relays but I dont know about the quality of the other parts I will need for these units. Also, could I get an ETA for the order? I am planning a trip and want to test this out then. Thanks!

Yes there are parts lists and everything included. If you want quality parts go through Digi-Key. I use all electronics for stuff too, like resistors and the like. Just not for IC's or semi-conductors, since these are static sensitive and All Electronics doesn't seem to do much to protect from that unfortunately.

I also PM'd you on shipping.

          Thanks,
          Lee

            toggle question

I am making pretty good progress on the eife build.
Thanks to Redmeanie for the great kit.
I am having trouble getting my head around the 4PDT toggle switch.
could anyone please give me some guidance on connecting the toggle?
which wires go to what posts?
I am using the dual eife, and have already found the signal and ground leads for both sensors.
            Thanks!

              Hello all I am new...

I know that there is a new forum section, but had some quesitons. I have been following David Lawton, Stan Meyers and Ravis work for some time now. Does this cuircuit replace the OS Sensor for the ability to add the Fuel Cell without the engine running leaner? How do you tell if the engine is runner leaner? I am interested in building a Fuel Cell and putting it in my trunk and running the lines along with the gas fuel lines to the intake manifold. Has anyone attempted running it from the trunk?

I am interested in the kit, but I am trying to make sure I understand where everything falls in line.

I don't want to seperate this thread, so feel free to private message me in not appropriate here.

                Ok,
Sit tight I will try and draw up a diagram on the 4PDT switch for you....

                  one more thing

Just to be absolutely sure about the IC:
The notch in the 18-pin DIP socket is oriented toward the top of the circuit as shown on the instruction sheet picture?

And the notch on the chip itself lines up with the notch in the socket?

                  thanks!

Scroll up in this thread and look at Jetijs' post where he put pics (its on the second page). I believe I did also. That is the best way to tell you. The sockets orientation doesn't really matter as long as the IC goes in right.

                      4PDT Switch

                      Jaybone,

I don't know how Red does it, but here's how I wired mine up. (see picture)

The 4DPDT switch doesn't switch anything but the signal line. The ground and power to the board itself are completely different.

Thanks Jerry! I was going to post a diagram when I tried, Im full apparently...Im not sure if I clear my images out of my account if they will disappear from the postings. Oh yeah and thats exactly how they go.....

                          Thanks Gashouse and Redmeanie,
that is exactly what I needed.

These are the first circuits I have ever put together, so if the 9-year old girl is not proof enough that this is within the capabilities of most people, hopefully I can help in that respect, we will have to see if it actually works first!

I'm going to try to get them installed today so I'll let you all know how it turns out.

                            looking at jetijs photo,
the notch in the IC points to the 10K resistor.
                            right?

I was just a little confused because the other picture on that page shows the notch for the socket in the other direction.

                                Boards

                                Hey Red,

No worries about the sketch. I'm just trying to help ease the load on you a little since you've done so much already. I do have two questions. One, what is the voltage rating on the tantalum capacitors? Two, did you etch the boards yourself, or did you send off for them?

                                Thanks,

                                Jerry
