          I hate to say it...

I think his days are numbered... He got offers to buy it, next somebody will shut him down. They know his address now.

            Great find!!

            Text from article:

            Groundbreaking invention from Athurugiriya youth
Water powered car solution to fuel crisis:

            Rajmi MANATUNGA

Tired of spending the better part of your income on refuelling your four wheeler ? Young Thushara Priyamal Edirisinghe may have the ideal solution for your problem which keeps worsening with every hike in world oil prices.

Thushara, a 25-year-old from Athurugiriya, is the inventor of what could be a ground-breaking technology of powering a car by water, using an extremely low amount of electricity.

Thushara Priyamal Edirisinghe, the inventor of the generator capable of powering a vehicle using water explaining the technology behind his creation to Prime Minister Ratnasiri Wickramanayaka at Temple Trees yesterday.

According to the the young inventor, the generator he has designed is capable of running a motor car for 80 kilometres using only one litre of water, without any danger to life or any impact on the environment.

The energy required to power the vehicle is produced by the splitting off of H2O (water) into separate Hydrogen and Oxygen molecules, of which the former is burnt according to a specified ratio to produce the energy needed to power the engine.

”The technology of using water to produce hydrogen gas has been existing for the past 60 years. In certain countries, water-powered vehicles have also been produced using Hydrogen found in water.

The specialty of my invention is its ability to produce this energy from water with a minimal electric current of barely 0.5 amperes, which was not possible earlier,” Thushara says.

A product of Christ King College, Pannipitiya, Thushara, on his test run of the water-powered car, has travelled all the way to Anuradhapura and back on mere three litres of water, a journey that would have cost several thousand rupees on a petrol or diesel vehicle.

”This generator could be fixed to any petrol or diesel vehicle with suitable adjustments depending on their cylinder capacity. While Hydrogen is 1000 times faster than petrol, the exhausts of water-powered vehicles consisting of water vapour are also entirely eco-friendly. Using water as opposed to oil that react with lubricating oil would also extend the life of the vehicle,” he adds.

Prime Minister Ratnasiri Wickramanayaka who met the talented youth at Temple Trees yesterday extended the Government’s fullest support to his efforts to introduce the water-powered car to the Sri Lankan market.

The Premier also pledged to provide facilities for the venture including a plot of land to carry out the conversion of fuel-powered engines to water-powered ones, bank loans etc.

“A number of foreign companies from the United States, Australia and Korea approached me to buy the technology behind this invention. But, I have decided to put my creation to use in way that helps the development of my country,” Thushara said.

What do you all think this is: An electrolyzer, or a reactor like Dingle is showing in his last vid (i suspect that is who the guy was refering to in his comments about other people doing it in other countries)?

Hmm, this may have something to do with Mr. Dingel's deciding to come out now too maybe, if this guy's system is similar

Regarding his safety: The more he gets in the news and the more he shares, the safer he is. It's the more secretive and reclusive guys who usually got in the most trouble. Im just amazed that this government Minister is embracing it. Great!! I remember reading Arthur C. Clarke was working on some free energy stuff there in Sri Lanka in past years before his death.

This makes three recent discoveries counting the 300 HP magnetic crank shaft "magforce" engine in Korea and the "TPU" -like thingie in Bangladesh... That have not been reported on at all by the U.S. mainstream media: Which monitors all foreign news but chose not to

I bet the bad guys are starting to sweat bullets about now : So far 2008 has a bad year for them, and looking to get worse all the time

              very interreting

What surprised me is that with the same kind of technology, one guy gett meet the Prime Minister (the guy in the article), when the other has to hide from the supressors (Ravi) ...

Is it because they are very well connected, this supressors, spying internet, but they can be surprised in the real life, like with this article in the national press, and metting with the Prime Minister ...

That is amazing! Though doesn't say anything on the voltage... a clue perhaps?

Ash, you had me pretty wide eyed with the thread title! 50ma?! lol It is low but not quite that low!

Sri Lanka is a separate country than India where Ravi is in, so that may be the difference; although there are many Tamils living in southern India also. I believe Sri Lanka (Ceylon) is not an extremely poor country, and is better off than most. They have a big tourist industry from Europe which probably helps a lot and it has good exports. So it could be they are not "owned" by the international banks to the extent Philippines, Bangladesh, and India are. And if Arthur C. Clarke did have a large influence on them (i remember reading he worked on projects for the government there), they are all-up on new energy theories

I contacted the newspaper staff writer there and asked him to pass on our wish for more info /interview from the inventor, we will see if that gets anywhere. It would be great to break a story like this to the blogisphere and eventually into the mainstream!

One way we can win this is to nickel-and dime 'em to death, hehehe Enough mosquito bites will bring down an elephant.

When are people gonna learn. You'd think the example they made of Stan Meyers would be enough, but I guess they think it won't happen to them. The thing to remember is the Big Bad Boys own the media and can shape public opinion quite easily.

The Big Bad Boys also own the money creation industry as well, so if you get dollar signs in your eyes you're doomed.
