It doesn't look like we'll be able to convert the avatars over. Those were loaded into a custom profile system that is no longer supported so we're back to the stock vbulletin profile system which is ok.

EDIT - well, figured out how to rebuild the AVATAR thumbnails so all users' avatars show be showing for everyone!

SOCIAL SHARING

At the bottom of each post are share buttons for Facebook, etc... You can use these to share any thread you want. The larger share button appears underneath the first post of any thread.

new threads

My Profile Link is missing..

And I can't create new threads anymore.

The old profile system /z/vidbid are not able to be imported. That system was so old it was not supported anymore and is not compatible with updated php on the server.

You should be able to create a new thread - the permissions are enabled. What happens - do you just not see the new thread option when you go to a forum or subforum?

increasing member space allotment

Here are some increases we have changed for all member's accounts:

Increased total attachment space to 25mb

Increased private message space to 200 messages

Increased image sizes for your photo albums to 1280x1024 and 2.5mb per picture

I know 25mb isn't huge, but it is a start. I have to first migrate another server's contents to this same server and there should be plenty of space where I can increase this substantially. Private messages were 50 messages limit and are not 4 times that. I can look at increasing that later as well and the images sizes are up quite a bit.

These are actually all quite a bit more than what they were in the past, but the small limits were due to having a dinosauer server that has been on its last legs for a while.

Again, after another server is migrated here, I can look at increasing these even more but just wanted to pass this on for now.

Ads in Energetic Forum

As many of you know, Energetic Forum has remained the least monetized forum out of all the major "free energy" forums online since it's inception 7-8 years ago.

The ads have been most for the conference and for books/videos published by A & P Electronic Media (by Peter Lindemann and myself) through the Clickbank system. The commissions earned by the forum for those sales are what have paid for the server for all these years. Since most of the regular users either have or are familiar with quite a bit of this published material, you can imagine that the income produced through the forum is miniscule.

We have recently moved to a new server, which now costs hundreds of dollars per month so I am now going to be putting some ads around the forum to help cover the costs. Myself and the other moderators do not mind volunteering our time to help keep the forum running, keep the spam out and moderating as needed, but we would like the forum to continue to pay for itself.

Besides the ads, at the bottom of the forum, there is a PayPal subscription button where if you choose to, you can voluntarily subscribe with a $5/month payment and up. PayPal will automatically bill you for that amount every month. The forum will still remain free for everyone even if they don't pay for a voluntary subscription, but please consider supporting Energetic Forum in this way.

Navbar Forum Jump menu option

On every page in the forum except for home.php, the navbar (horizontal menu bar under the header) has a Forum Jump option.

If you click on that, it will give you a popup menu with every forum/subforum at Energetic Forum so you can instantly go to any forum/subforum you want.

If you experience a glitch with this, please let me know.

So far everything works good and if I get a character limit on one page I just make a few more smaller posts to accomplish the same job as one post would
