The "Double Slit Experiment" is the classic experiment that really turned the world upside down in the world of physics. For a more technical explanation, see this The Feynman Double Slit

It proves that the very act of observing something not only can but actually DOES influence the properties of things at a distance. Electrons beaming through two slits without an observer makes the electrons act like waves and as soon as these probability waves are OBSERVED, the electrons act like particles...the opposite state of a wave. Basically meaning that what we focus on collapses a probability into actually being what we perceive.

It is an ancient concept that philosophically has been pondered for ages. If a tree falls in the forest and there is nobody there to hear it, does it make any noise?

On this page: Energetic Science Ministries™ | Resource Library there is a link to a double slit experiment video clip about 5 minutes long that really makes it simple to see the effects. Of course the WHY????? isn't really explained.

This is in the realm of consciousness sciences that has had a difficulty making the connection between our thoughts and the quantum world. This connection will probably be one of the greatest breakthroughs in quantum physics and consciousness sciences.

If this is figured out at least to a reasonable depth it will make available some remarkable keys to the mysteries of the universe and the mind itself. If able to apply this knowledge, there surely will be some very interesting technologies as a result of this.

I really enjoyed the 5minute short cartoon on "Double Slit Experiment"! I have been working through another deep layer of fears these past few days. Which I always get excited about because my life always improves tremendously when I recognize Fear within me. I do feel this "Double Slit Experiment is explaining to me what I am doing.

I have always used the old saying "What you resist will persist, and what you look at disappears" to work through fears. I know that facing your fears or becoming aware of them is a way to release them.

In this short film, at the end he mentions, "The observer collapsed the wave function simply by observing"

So If I am experiencing "waves of fears" then by observing them, I can collapse them into a much easier, more manageable "slit". I can more easily focus on what I do desire, and create that, vs combating waves of Fear by ignoring the signs and allowing more waves of fears!

Usually my physical and emotional state, let me know when something is up. For example coming down with an inexplicable sore neck, or headache. Feeling a sense of uneasiness for no reason etc.

I do believe "Cognitive Dissonance" is all about combating fears that are unconscious. I also KNOW that Paths has helped me like no other Spiritual Tool out there eradicate my old habits of resisting my fears!! I love this so much!!

I do believe this information you just gave us , has really helped me to truly enjoy facing my fears even more!!!! WOW, I think I have got something here!! How Fabulous can life get?

Wheeler's Delayed Choice Experiment

John Archibald Wheeler first proposed a thought experiment known as the delayed choice experiment.

Imagine the original double slit experiment but AFTER the "particles" go through slots, THEN is is decided to observe BEFORE anything hits the screen. What would happen?

If we observe after this, then we see that they came as particles through a slot BUT before there was observation, they would have come through as waves. So by observing after the fact, it seems to have changed the past in way that it caused them to come through as particles instead of unobserved waves.

It is a great "mystery" why this happens...why observation at a distance can remotely influence "quantum particles" to change their properties and even a greater mystery how observing after the fact seems to change what happened before. It seems that in the quantum world, the properties of time as we see it do not apply.

To rephrase this concept... if it is decided to observe which slots the photons come through AFTER the photons come through the slots, it will be observed that they have come through as particles. BUT, BEFORE there was observation, we know that with no observation, they come through as waves. So by observing AFTER they come through it changes the past so that they came through as particles even though without observation before they came through as waves. So the past was changed it seems.

With the original double slit experiment, it shows that by simply observing, we change a wave into a particle. This shows that our observation has an effect on subtle energies at a distance.

The delayed choice experiment shows that if the observation is made AFTER the waves have made it through the slits, that it is observed that they were particles AFTER THE FACT meaning that the past was changed to make them appear as though they were particles...even though before observation, they would have come through as waves.

The Delayed Choice Quantum Eraser just takes us further on down the rabbit hole of how spooky quantum physics can be.

There is something called the Heisenberg Uncertainty Principle

It simple terms, it means that the position and momentum of a photon, electron, etc... cannot both be determined at the same time because measuring one will interfere with the status of the other. Measuring momentum makes it seemingly impossible to determine its position in that moment. Measuring the position at any moment will make it seemingly impossible to also know the momentum. So, one or the other.

BUT, under certain conditions, it seems that both can be seen violating this principle.

The Delayed Choice Quantum Eraser experiment does this. The "which-path" particle info and the "both-path" wave info can both be had.

" In 1982, Scully and Dr?hl found a way around this position-momentum uncertainty obstacle and proposed a quantum eraser to obtain which-path or particle-like information without scattering or otherwise introducing large uncontrolled phase factors to disturb the interference. To be sure the interference pattern disappears when which-path information is obtained. But it reappears when we erase (quantum erasure) the which-path information. " Pretty wild!

Simply, if it is recorded, which slit the photons go through, particle behavior is seen. THEN, if this information is ERASED, then the wave pattern RE-APPEARS!!!

That is a great little video!

The overall simplified concept of particle/wave is that particle state in the "collapsed" state means it is physically manifest as a specific thing. In the wave state it is still in a state of probability and has the ability to become something specific like a particle if observed.

With this, there is the probability of there to be fear or Love. Both can exist in probability states as being in someone's life. Which ever one focuses on will collapse into their reality. So if Love is what is desired for example and it exists only as a possibility with various degrees of probability, focus on that over time will increase the probability until it collapses into someone's life and they see Love.

These concepts really show that what we focus on expands. If we think we can or we think we can't we're right as Ford says.

First there is a possibility. That possibility will probably have a very minimal amount of probability and therefore will exist as a probability wave. The more focus, the more potential builds for that possibility meaning it becomes more probable that it will happen. However, even with high potential of happening, it is still a probability wave. When it is able to be observed as being real, it is so probable that it actually collapses from a highly probable possibility into a real "particle" state or something that one can observe in their own life.
