  • When i log in, the thread stops at page 38

In the Renewable Energy section, i have been following the following thread, which is entitled "Water Sparkplug".

    http://www.energeticforum.com/renewa...ead.php?t=2242

During the past few daays, the thread has reached page numbers in fourties, and today is about low fifties.
I was several times surfing other threads on this forum, and other web sites with my many tabs in the browser. When i retured to this particular thread at a later time, which i previously remember being something in the high fourties page number, it was then page 38.

Today i finally realised what was happening. When i log into the forum and view the above thread, it only shows the last page as being page number 38, and as if there are no further pages in the thread. In actual fact, the remainder of the posts for that thread have reached the fifty something page number range, which only shows the page numbers over page 38 (on my PC) if i log out of the forum. I did this in two different browsers. Opera and Firefox, and the behaviour is exactly the same.

Do others experience this also, or is it only happening on my PC?

    recent page showing?

    Hi Alsy,

I have never seen that happen. I always see the most recent page no matter what the page. I'd be interested in knowing if it is happening with anyone else.
    Sincerely,
    Aaron Murakami

I can access the last page now, just the number is innacurate for some reason

I have been trying many things since last posting, and i have provided a copy bellow of what was tried. After all of that, it emerged that the only problem was that somehow the page numbers reported on my screen have been and are showing "page 39" when logged in, but the actual posts are the same as page (at this time of typing) 52. Not ideal, but not a big deal either. It is a big sigh of relief though.

Microsoft Explorer Version 6 browser, Firefox2, and Firefox 3 (Both Firefox versions are currently up to date). Still, the max page number shows as 39.

Next test was to disconnect the new hard drive i have been using this year, and put in its place the old hard drive. Both hard drives Have the Windows XP operating system, with SP1 (Service Pack 1), and near same programs in use.

Since posting last, the last page showing on the thread (on either hard drive), has gone up a page. ie showing that the last page is p39.

I wondered if SP1 or my Operating System had something to do with it, so i removed the hard drive and left the computer to run on a non Microsoft Operating system that runs off a CD. (pcLinuxOS 2007) It is what is called a Live CD, which loads some of the program into RAM, and shuffles things off and on from the CD as one accesses different parts of the program. It basically allows one to use or trial the operating system without installing it. Anyway, i tested both Logged in and logged of EnergeticForum. What was really surprising, was that both Firefox, and a Linux browser called Konqueror, exhibited the same anomaly of showing a lower page number as the last page, than what it actually is.

All of that seems to point away form it being an Operating System issue. If its not the Operating system, then what else could it be?
