Hello all.
First of all I thank Aaron for letting me post so quickly after emailing him.
I ran in to this site by accident Google-ing for articles on hydrogen and renewable energy, something I have been intersted in for some time. This forum is right up my alley, for much of what is discussed here, I have some interest in, and also maybe some expertise to help.
I've been on this planet for almost 65 years and have seen and experienced things I used to read about in science fiction magazines, as a very young man. As I sit here in front of this marvelous machine called a computer, I somethimes feel I'm still in a dream, reading and daydreaming about the marvelous future in my scifi books, but here I am, alive and doing my dream.
Of course with that dreaming about the future as a young boy, came some terrible and sad experiences. I was born in 1944 Germany, and as my mother described it, "as the bombs fell". My early memories were of a city largely bombed out, burned out fasades in every neigborhood. As children we used to play in those bombed out buildings having fun, and sometimes forgetting how those buildings became that way. But every so often we would find something that would jar us out of our innocent playfullness, by finding objects that reminded us human beings once lived here, and some met a terrible faith by the technology of destruction. As we all know too well, technology is a two edged sword.
Anyway, we have a chance of a good future if we just make an effort. And I know I'm in the right place with all these wonderfull young (and old,,lol) minds, working on a better future for this planet.
