  • Hi noob here!

    Hi Guys

this is my first post here at EF so i just wanted to say hello to you all. I have absolutely no electronics experience apart from the odd solder repair so, i am a bit out of my depth, however i am about to embark on my first Bedini SSG

I have all my components on order and i intend on using a stripped down vcr head drum as a bearing as i find these rotate real nice! I intend on staring with batteries but would like to get it self running on caps just for the sheer delight of seeing it work that way! So if anyone can point me in the direction of info on how to set that up (running on caps) i would be most grateful.

I also wanted to ask: if someone could look at the items i am about to use and tell me if they are correct/suitable, the ones marked - ?

    2 N 3055 (STM)
    1N4001 50V 1A
    1N4007 1000V 1A
    POT M7 500K linear - ?
    430 OHM resistor - ?
    Neon lamp

anyway i hope i have the right stuff on order since i have looked a so many variations of the circuit i am a bit confused lol

Well that's all i have to say/ask i can't wait to get started I will be sure to post my progress

keep up the amazing work everyone

    best regards

    Welcome aboard!

Are you considering anything else other than the 430 OHM Resistor? I'm curious as to how you're unsure about it. I personally wouldn't use it but that's mainly fear of the unknown (which is half the fun, I know).

    Yikes!

    Best of luck to you

      430 OHM Resistor
      Maybe he used 220 +220 +10 = 430Ohm?
