Found this forum by "accident" last night. What great conversations you all have going on.

I'm 27, the proudest mom of an insanely smart 4 year old, a fine-dining server, and a part-time student for now. I'm still not sure what field to go into...education? business management? medical? psychology? Sucks when you are interested in them all. I have the feeling that i'll be one of those lifetime learners My hobbys would included playing the violin and guitar, reading, dowsing, studying energy/quantum physics, bringing more light to the world, and just having fun. I love spending time in nature, and i'm looking forward to creating a larger garden than before this spring. I have shamanistic ties but do not cling to any religion. I'm totally open minded, give great advice, and just love interacting with others. I have been able to see energy since I was 16, live with heightened senses, and am an empath. There is much more to my story. If you are interested just ask. I may be a newbie here, but i've been around the block a time or two.

    Education? Not Now!

    Hi DaiseyMay11! Welcome!

I haven't posted for a while as I have been busy with other things, so I've just been reading now and then... However, your question jumped out at me and I'd like to add my 2 cents to one of your career considerations...

As a former educator, unless you desire a career filled with utter frustration, don't consider education...at least not now. Maybe someday the powers that be will get education in America right, but given the history, don't plan on it too soon. Have a look to what Sir Ken Robinson has to say in this entertaining little video for just a FEW reasons why:

    YouTube - theRSAorg's Channel

About the only thing that is even somewhat worthy about this career option right now is the minor financial security it provides...that is if you follow the "rules" and do what is expected, which means BIG TIME exhaustion, frustration, as well as expense, straight from YOUR pocket.

Yeah...working with the kids can be exquisitely satisfying, but consider this: you have your OWN little one who needs your blessed loving energy! If I could do it all over again, knowing what I know, I would never consider education. Personally, I would choose something along the psychological lines in a career and the reasons for that are far too profound for me to go into here!

    Good Luck, Sweetness!

        Hi Daisey Mae,

Welcome!! You sound incredibly interesting, gifted, and well versed in many areas (religion, healing, science, nature...). You will find many like minded individuals and will feel at home in no time.

I have to ask, what is 'dowsing'?

Like Pamela (you are too funny, as always, Pamela!) I haven't been on in a awhile (where does the time go - oh yeah, now I remember...).

        Cheers!
        Glenn
