  • Complete newbie with many thoughts

    Hi All,

The whole area of alternative energies excite me greatly.

My biggest worry about getting started in my projects and experiments is that I have no electronics experience at all. My career and experience is in computers. However, I do have a good logical mind.

I would imagine that I will start of by building a Bedini SSG motor. I do have one question on this before I even start. I have heard somewhere that you get better recharging performance of your second battery if you use capacitors and pulse the power in. However, I very seldom see this in anyones designs. Is the capacitor theory correct?

I also plan to look into the area of magnetic shielding and permanent magnets similar to the John Ecklin motor.

I also want to look at U shaped electro magnets. My thoughts are that all of the motor designs I see that use pulsing electro magnets are inefficient as they only use one side the the magnet. If you use 2 rotar wheels with a gap in between them. One wheel say has N pole magnets and the other one with N pole magnets that are offset a few degrees back. With one pulse of the electromagnet you will repulse the N pole magnet on wheel 1, as per normal, but you will also attract the N pole magnet on wheel 2. An extra free bang for your buck.

Anyway, glad to be in the thick of things.
