I initially became interested in renewable energy when I bought a cabin out in the middle of nowhere and needed a way to provide enough power for a few small appliances. So I set up a small off grid system there.
I don't have any projects currently in the works right now. When I finally get to where I am going to live permanently my plan is to try to power my home 100% with renewable energy.
Hi Grooveman,..So you were off the grid in the middle of nowhere with a roof, what happened to make you give that up? I think if you want to do something simple start with a Joule thief, pretty common circuit, very interesting. I've been using one as a voltage amp to run my mini SSG from a 1.25 v nmh and I just got an idea from a post on here today that I'm gonna use to reduce my input voltage even more to make better use of my mag amp, but anyhow, like I said start with the J T,...
