It seems safer than say hang gliding because it seems there is less chance for some equipment problem - as long as the parachute works!

after watching that video again, i think i see why it isnt possible (without a snowboard on snow like you said) around the middle of the video, there are some people standing on a hill. then the guy in yellow streaks past at what looks like 100+ mph. i doubt the "air brakes" would slow you down efficiently enough for a landing.

OH My GOSH!!! How the heck does one train for that? What form of practice could there be but thrusting out full speed from the beginning? How many jumps (or feet) I wonder, before I'd be ready to "play".

The leaping off the cliff edge - I didn't even have time to react to that aspect because I was immediately in sweeping awe of that fabulous graceful turn they did.
