After talking to Peter a bit on the Kiker wires, he was telling me about Ralph Bergstresser and a spark prolonging device he used back in the 70's. Peter knew Bergstresser and Bergstresser had met with Tesla at sometime when he was younger. So here is the info:

AFTER I made a youtube vid on it, something made me look at the Kiker battery booster patent again and there you go...Bergstresser is the first cited reference. LOL. Seems things just flow together nicely here.

spaced turns

It took about 15 minutes to wind. When I can get 22 gauge wire, I'm going to make another.

I mention in the vid I would super glue the spaced turns. It was pointed out to me that I shouldn't super glue my spaced turns since it could eat the enamel. I'm going to use a hot glue gun.

I know I am new here but I would suggest using a pipe threader on the tube. It should give you roughly the spacing you need with no need for any type of adhesive.

Seen something like this B4 for older cars

What a simple plan to enhance spark energy for each spark plug.
Had a type of this on a vehicle years ago. This will only work on a coil sparked ignition system

Thanks for finding this and sharing, Aaron. This is just what we need.

The loud bang I get when discharging my HV cap is converted to a quiet, expanded spark when I use a heavy series inductor, to provide a time constant. Bergstresser's coil takes a lot less wire.

This coil will allow me to advance my experiments. Ie, two caps, each with a different time constant. Reminds me of Pat. #3890548. Also, Keely was able to explode a drop of water - launching a cannon ball - by playing "C" "A" "F" on his violin. With A=440 Hz, higher harmonics can be calculated by multiplying the frequencies by any prime number.

I forgot to add that I'm discharging the cap through an inductive spark, similar to the CSET and the Water Sparkplug.

Really stupid question

Just a first thought, haven't read thru the patent, and can't view youtubes, my old 'puter can't handle it. If its just a coil, without an iron core, could I just take an ignition coil, and remove the core? Jim

Removing the core will allow the ignition coil to operate at higher frequencies. But that won't alter the discharge the way this coil does.
