Its the Pharms and Privates who are the enemies here

Although i certainly agree with the sentiment to "get rid of the bums!", i think the entire point on this healthcare bill is being missed.

It was a total disaster from the start. Why? Because 98 Senators take big money from the private insurers and Pharms. This bill is pure corporate welfare FOR the private insurers. They get to go on cheating everyone, and now people are even FORCED to buy their wares.. Or pay a serious penalty. WTF... This was supposed to be about insuring the 50 million (and quickly growing) Americans with no healthcare. Instead, when the Public Option was killed (the Senate would not even allow Debate on it, despite over 60 percent of the pop WANTING it), they decided to PUNISH us for even asking for Reform, by FORCING us to buy their crooked and totally overpriced private insurance deals.

THIS IS THE REAL CRIMINALITY here. How can they get away with this? When we were forced to buy car insurance, they said that "driving is a privilege". Now, does this mean that "LIVING IS A PRIVILEGE" too... that we must now pay private corporations for??

Most Americans WANT not-for profit healthcare insurance (whether some of you here do or not). Most industrialized countries already have it. We are NOT ALLOWED to have it, because it will cost the Pharms and Privates billions in profits that they get from denying care to sick people.

The overt corruption here, directly tied to the pharm and private insurance lobbyists, is so sickening, that nearly EVERY SINGLE SENATOR (except for 3 ; Saunders, Burris, and the new guy from Minnesota) should lose in their next Primary election. And many of us will be working for that.

How can we not have single payer when about 60% wanted it, but instead be charged through the noise for living as if that where a crime? That's it isn't it, to the Ruling Class our being alive is a crime against humanity and we should be punished for every breath we take. I think we should go around with the signs of the consitution that point out what ever health care we have they must also have, then this would just evaporate into thin air.

Here are the latest polling results concerning Healthcare Reform, as compiled by Rasmussen Reports just yesterday. Rasmussen polls, done through random robotic telephone calls, are consistently rated the most accurate of any public opinion polling group.Another interesting poll conducted by Rasmussen Reports asked the following three questions concerning public opinion of government:The results of that poll are as follows:

• Seventy percent (70%) of voters generally trust the American people more than political leaders on important national issues.
• Sixty-eight percent (68%) view the federal government as a special interest group.
• Seventy-one percent (71%) believe that the government and big business typically work together in ways that hurt consumers and investors.

It is also interesting to note that over the years these results have changed very little no matter whether Republicans or Democrats are in charge of the government.

The so called "ruling elite" were asleep and baited just as were the "general populace". You see true Communism is run by the government NOT the people poor or wealthy.

Hi Walter, and thanks for your input. It would appear that you reference the "ruling elite" as something different than I do and basically being the wealthy upper class. I agree that the wealthy upper class, the middle class, and the poor were all asleep and unaware of the plan of domination being carried out, and the fact that they were complying with it.

My definition of the American Ruling Class (the subject of this thread) is a circle of massively wealthy and powerful families that run the banks, corporations, and government, and essentially control everything in America. Those in the highest elected or appointed positions within our government are only in those positions because they are chosen by the American Ruling Class, and they are there to represent and carry out the agenda of the Ruling Class - not to represent the American people. They are political puppets of the Ruling Class, who pull all the strings while maintaining a position of low visibility that the public is largely unaware of. The true Ruling Class of America, and of the world, for that matter, were never asleep to the plan of total domination because they are the ones who formulated the plan in order to maintain and expand their power and dominion over us.

I appreciate the work you have done in researching CAFR, and your efforts to inform the public. I do think however, that your notion of overturning all of the corruption with "the stroke of a pen" is a huge oversimplification of the matter at hand, especially if we leave the corrupt individuals and institutions intact. You suggest that the financial cartels can be left in place and that this is a win-win situation - "The financial cartels (unequaled capital investment held and growing driving the economy and under their management)." I don't want to leave anything under their management. I firmly believe that nothing can come of this unless we first replace all our government representatives with people of integrity who will uphold the US Constitution, and who will consider it their first and foremost priority to abolish the Federal Reserve and the IRS, and end the practices that allow lobbyists and special interest groups to exert their influence. Sure, you can get teams of Certified Financial Accountants to study the CAFR's and expose government corruption to the public, but public opinion and outrage has no effect upon those in Washington. They have made that very clear while pushing through the bailout bills, the Economic Stimulus Act, and the Health Reform package, all of which have been strongly opposed by the public.

I do agree that examining and reporting on the CAFR's at all levels is of great importance, and that the information can be used as part of our arsenal in our struggle against tyranny and oppression. I noticed that among the links for state CAFR's at your website there is no listing for Maine, and perhaps that was hard to find. Please feel free to add the information for Maine, which can be found here:

Government "Pork"

We all know that there is a lot of dealing that goes on in Washington, sometimes out in the open and at other times behind closed doors. Every time that a new bill is introduced, Congessmen and Senators immediately set out to add in expenditures for "pork barrel" projects which more often than not have nothing to do with the legislation being considered. That way, in order to pass the legislation, the pork projects automatically get approved. This practice should have been outlawed long ago, but it is the favorite tool of politicians. The President does have line item veto power wherein he can strike out any and all pork barrel items that he finds, before signing his approval to the legislation, but for the most part this option is totally ignored. After all, who has the time to read thousands of pages of legislative documents to determine where the pork is hidden? Actually, there is a citizens group which does exactly that. They are known as Citizens Against Government Waste (CAGW). CAGW's mission is to eliminate waste, fraud, abuse and mismanagement in the federal government. Especially interesting is their annual publication titled, "Congressional Pig Book Summary," which lists all the wasteful pork barrel federal government spending for the year. The 2009 Maine Pig Book identifies more than $2 billion in wasteful Maine state government spending. This publication is done by the Maine Heritage Policy Center, a non-partisan non-profit organization. Their website MOG | Government Spending...Down to Agency, Person, and Penny offers complete details on Maine taxation and expenditures.

I would expect that organizations in other states offer similar information, and you might try a Google search to find info for your state. The total amount of government pork is humongous, and these watchdog groups can tell us exactly what is being spent on what projects, and who requested them. A great resource.
