I am shocked - why no lawsuits?

Yes, MS, that definitely is what we are seeing happen, and here's one example:

I-131 (radioiodine), which serves as a marker for other products of radiation, is now being found in every place that it is looked for in the US. The Governor of Pennsylvania, allowing as how 33,000% the background radiation level ( and the allowable US government level of I-131) was being found in rainwater in his state said, "No one drinks rainwater, so there is no threat to human health!"

"No threat to human health," huh? I wouldn't believe that any more than I would believe Obama is a natural born citizen of the US. But don't worry, folks, surely the US Government, in the form of the Environmental Protection Agency, is ramping up efforts to protect us, right?. Yes, they are! And here's how they are doing that - they are raising the allowable levels of contamination in drinking water that can be present before an alert is sounded -

I feel so much more at ease and reassured now, because of the EPA's actions, don't you?

If this is true why isn't Greenpeace or others suing the sh*t out of the EPA? Do you have any links to document this?

"the Navy just sank a Japanese ghost ship wrought with nuclear fallout off the coast of Alaska because they didn't know what else to do with it." The ship was part of the Japanese earthquake and tsunami and was apparently swept out to see with no one on it, but covered in radioactive material. Now fishing along the coast of Alaska, the canneries, and other coastal businesses have been shut down due to nuclear fallout. She said nuclear fallout out is all over the place up there; it's in the water, it's in the soil, it's everywhere. She's bummed out about her job falling through, but also warned "don't eat the seafood...radiation levels are really high."

Greenpeace, like most of the green movements, have been co opted to some extent. They have been redirected to push things like climate change instead of looking at the real problems such as Fukushima, GMO Toxins in the food supply and DU, so we cannot expect much more than token protests from them.

It is up to us, the ordinary man in the street, to start and put pressure our "lords and masters" and make them take action.

Just read the report of declined birds population, about 33%. They migrate from NZ to Northern Hemisphere (Japan in particular). NZ ornithologist said that those returning this year are in poor shape.

And this may be or not related but I decided to post here -

WHAT HAPPENED AT THE NO. 2 REACTOR?

However, the TEPCO panel included an analysis of readings from seismographs at the Fukushima No. 1 plant. There were no observations of shaking caused by an explosion between 6 a.m. and 6:10 a.m. when the sound of an impact was heard at the No. 2 reactor. Shaking was recorded at 6:12 a.m. when an explosion likely occurred at the No. 4 reactor, according to the TEPCO panel.

The government panel also said the impact sound was likely caused by the explosion at the No. 4 reactor. The private-sector panel also rejected the notion that an explosion occurred at the No. 2 reactor.

The panels also could not explain what caused the high radiation levels.

Unexplained Damage

TEPCO used an industrial endoscope on March 26 to check the interior of the reactor. The water level was only about 60 centimeters from the bottom of the containment vessel, much lower than estimated. Water pumped into the reactor more than likely has leaked from damaged parts of the core. However, none of the panels have yet explained how that damage occurred.

Koriyama board of education stops decontamination of schools

Prof. Yamauchi Tomoya from Kobe university confessed the board of education of Koriyama city stops decontamination, on the radio show MBS Tanemaki journal. (Assistant professor Koide from Kyoto university regularly talks on this radio show as well.)

He is an expert of decontamination. On the radio show, he talked his experience when he went to a kindergarten and elementary school of Koriyama city to assist decontamination but the board of education stopped him from decontaminating. The reason was not talked.

He also added, the safety limit is 0.23μSv/h. If it goes over 0.23μSv/h, local government must decontaminate the school areas, but actually it was difficult to find somewhere less than 0.23μSv/h though it was after decontamination.

Contaminated soil was already removed and new soil was added, but places surrounding the playground of elementary school or kindergarten are still highly contaminated, radiation comes over the playground. If those severely contaminated areas are not owned by schools, it is impossible to decontaminate it.

Children are still living there.

In the daily press conference of 4/27/2012, Tepco stated they lose the manner to measure the temperature of each SFP from reactor 1 to 3 when circulative cooling system is troubled.

Only SFP 4 can be reached by human worker so a temporary heating gauge is attached.

According to Tepco, they measure temperature where water comes from skimmer surge tank to primary cooling water pump at each reactor, not inside of the pool. They thus can not measure temperature when circulative cooling system stops. There is no plan to solve this problem.

Thyroid nodules rate in Fukushima is 20 time higher than in Chernobyl

In March, Fukushima government conducted thyroid test for under 18 in 13 cities and towns such as Minamisoma city, Namiemachi, Iidatemura, Tomiokamachi etc..

The result shows thyroid nodules (≦5.0mm) or cyst (≦20.0mm) were seen in 13,460 from 38,114 people (35.3%).

Compared to their pre-test result of January, it increased from 29.7% to 35.3%. (↑ 5.6%)

Unit 4 is leaning and could topple if hit with another earthquake or tsunami, resulting in a deadly high-level radioactive waste fire. The ability for the unit to withstand another seismic event is rated at zero.[email protected]. This is one small blessing.

Note that it does not seem to have interrupted the electrical service closing all these plants down, admitted that the other conventional plants may well be stretched but it clearly shows that in reality there is no need for nuclear power. I am confident that more conventional CHP plants and alternative power sources, which by the way all cost less to build and run than nuclear, could easily replace this extra capacity.

Maybe GW bush's Freudian slip is accurate, "nookilla"
