Did you just discharge an ordinary cap into those coils in series? Without CSET and any other circuits? If so, then I don't see anything unusual there.

A Tale Of Two Capacitors

I have two capacitors which are about the same size, one of which is a little heavier and came from a MW Oven. This cap is 1uF, rated at 2100 VAC. So I could probably get away with giving it 4kV, DC. Especially at a high frequency. However, for the sake of simplicity, I'll call it 2100V. The other cap is a motor cap, rated 10uF at 370V.

The actual amount of energy a cap can store is 1/2 times the capacitance multiplied by the square of the voltage. So I take the ratio of the two voltages and square that. (5.68) Then I multiply this by the ratio of the sizes, which is 1/10. When I take half of this answear, I find that the higher voltage, more expensive cap stores about three times the energy of the low voltage unit.

So a low voltage cap three times as big, physically, as the high voltage unit gives me the convenience of using a safer voltage level, with the same amount of energy to pulse a motor coil. And at a considerably lower cost.

I like where your thoughts are taking you. Now consider Tesla's comment that mass moving thru the aether is akin to sound travelling thru a steel beam.

Aether is the 'solid beam', mass is the 'sound wave'. Therefore what is mass? Would it be reasonable to assume, for the sake of progressing the idea, that all waves / particles / forces are in fact just travelling states of the aether?

Like your tv screen, monitor, etc that has pixels that do not move, but by changing their state, can make an image appear to move..

That's the last sneak-peak into the theory of the aether I'm working on... Next will be video presentations.

I got a question. Can you discharge a cap thru a coil and charge another cap in such a way as to boost the voltage of the second cap? And what about sending the second caps stored energy thru a coil to increase the voltage or potiential of a third Cap? Done with fast switching of course.

Yes, discharging a capacitor through a coil can produce a higher voltage. This is because a magnetic field has the effect of stiffening the space-time metric, something which the metric opposes. So, when the voltage source which supports the magnetic field is removed, the metric causes the field to collapse, producing a generator effect in the coil, with the new voltage directed in the same direction as the energizing field. The speed the field expands is related to the voltage, or pressure, behind the current through the coil. This speed is limited, but the speed of collapse isn't - except maybe by the speed of light - depending on how fast the power source is disconnected from the coil. If the circuit is interrupted quickly enough, the very high inductive voltage will explode outwardly from the resistance of the output wire, producing Tesla's Radiant Spikes.

When electricity was first discovered, experimenters with money built huge inductors to generate high voltage discharges. These weren't transformers, just single wire coils, hundreds of thousands of feet in length. When energized to a certain level, the coil acted as a solenoid, breaking the contacts of an input switch, causing the field to collapse much faster than it had expanded, generating phenomenal sparks with just a low voltage input.

Gaining voltage by discharging one cap into another, through an inductor, will depend on how fast you can disconnect the first cap, to remove its ring back effect from the circuit. You can do this with a Crow Bar Switch or a Tailbiter circuit, among other ways. As you said, done with fast switching.

Hummm. What would happen if this large back spike were allowed to enter the Grey tube? But more importantly, what would happen if that large back spike went straight to a Battery?

Also you should understand that Ed Grays design was very finely tuned both in timing of the cap charging pulses and discharging pulses. The discharging sequence must occur when the pulse charging the cap is at its low

what if the charging pulse was removed entirely a frog's hair before the discharge secquence? this IS what Grey was doing.
