Nope, not coil position. Just tested it moving the coil as it was running. Almost no change on the scope. Only the speed changed.

Even more puzzled now.

Dambit, how perfectly aligned is your rotor? Does every magnet match up against a pole piece equally? Coil positioning is of vital importance with a multi coil, and you should try to get everything as perfect as possible.

And how do you find the charging?

Hi Ren,

The coils are as dead-on to the magnets as I can get them. I will be swapping out the stator in a few weeks for a new one with six magnets configured to put out a scalar pole. The new stator will have the magnet grooves milled. The one I have on there now I had to cut myself, so there is room for improvement there.

The charging side of things is pretty good. Still doing some tests. Even though the spikes are not as high as expected, they are still around 60V from the master coil and the slave coil is 150V. RPM at the moment is about 4,200. This is based on the pulses measured on the scope.

I am begining to think that maybe one of the components on the master circuit board could be defective or malfunctioning. The reason I am thinking this is because the slave board is working fine. (well, good enough) I have spares so I will put together a new master board and plug that one in to compare the two.

I've had my head wrapped around this thing all day, so I think I'll kick back and have a few drinks tonight and hit it again tomorrow.

Is really incredible, I'm charging a very old battery NiMH AAA 1.2 Volts, with the Bedini SG, battery it was six moth without receive charge, was used by 3 years on my USB MP3, when I put in a normal battery charger, get hot very hot and charge goes out rapidly, on Bedini SG received charge by 30 mins only, and battery it was room temp, I did measurements with volt meter gave me 1.22 volts, so I tested on mp3 and works, really works!!!!! Radiant Energy is very efficient....

Well it looks like I have to rebuild the circuits anyway. I was testing it running on 24 votls and after reading some earlier posts I decided not to disconnect the output. I didn't want to risk frying stuff. Well,,, at the exact wrong moment a bird crashed into my window and as I craped my pants for a moment I bumped the output cable and all but one of my transistors fried. The machine still runs but the radiant output is next to nothing.

My new rule, If running on anything over 12V DO NOT DISCONNECT THE OUTPUT!!

Oh well, off Jaycar I go.

Hi all,

Has anyone ever had a battery that the sg wouldn't recognize? I have a battery that when I hook it up it doesn't absorbe the spikes. It is a gel cell, so I think that the electrolyte has dried up. I guess there's no way to fix that?

I have found that it is best to recycle those batteries, life is too short. Spend your time on the batteries that work after they have been charged or show real improvement

I normally only work with batteries that show a resting voltage of 10V or greater. And I pay 10$ for each of my golf cart batteries, because the deal I have is he will swap me out one if it does not work. Very good deal for me.

dambit, do you know if that battery possibly can have one cell burned?
Lead Acid battery 12 volts, have 6 cells 2 volts aprox each cells if battery is 10 Volts, one cell can be damaged.

When you recharge them with Bedini system battery reach 12 volts again?

It's a 12V 7Ah gell cell that was used to open and close my vergola roof. It has been sitting in the roof for several years, a few of which saw it not used as the motor had seized up. It got it's charge from a solar panel mounted on the roof. The thing probably cooked it now that I think about it.

At the moment it reads about 0.5V, Not much.

Opps, at the moment i had no tested Bedini system with that battery, i'm beginner, yesterday tested a new car battery labeled 500 amp, 12 volts, reads about 12.32 volts, first chager it by 1 hour and reades 12.65 volts, I connected Bedini SG in self runner setup, by 9 hours, and reads 12.43 volts.

Another boost for the SSG Cap on the back end.

Well tonight I tried out something that again Lidmotor from Youtube suggested. He took a common nite lite with a 5W bulb an put it in the charging side of the SSG. I tried this, but the first one I had was defective

Oh well went back and got me two more and these work like a charm!.. The biggest boost was to find out that putting a capacitor on the back side made the light glow 4X as bright as without it. I tried it with both an AC cap and a DC cap ( with a FWBR) . Both increased the brightness when hooked up verses not hooked in in parallel. So... I shall be adding a cap on the back in on my SSG from here on out.

But I put in varous sized bulbs in the night lite and you know right away the amount of energy needed to light that lite...

FYI.

BTW the nite light does not fully light up it just glows, but the intensity of the glow tells you alot!

I was watching the EFTV 2 vid again, and noticed that JB was monitoring the radiant spikes without the charging battery/bank being disconnected. How does he do that? Is it because the has the digital scope or something else?

If you have a scope, you simply connect one lead to the C of the transistor, and the one the neg of primary battery. I would like to know how he is getting so high a spike, I have read that he is using special config of the magnets to do that. Todate I have not seen spikes that high, but, it could be I also have at 35 mhz scope, a 50$ special.

I'm pretty sure you can read the voltage coming off the output diode with an analog meter placed right accross the diode but I'm not sure if this method is used with the scope.
